Quick Relay Question...

Ok, I am wanting to use one 20Amp rated switch to turn on two bosch 30Amp relays, Is this possible without burning up the switch? While the relays are hooked up independently from eachother, I wanted to just use "T-taps" to connect both relays together on the switch side. Does this make sense?

butlersZ,

Dan is correct about the relays. Relays are nothing more than a switch! A small amount of current is required to activate the contacts (an electromagnetic coil physically closes contacts to complete a circuit) and the closed contacts carry the high current to what ever device you are operating. Basically, relays keep high current out of the drivers compartment (safety) and likewise reduces the amount of wire (smaller gauge wire) needed for a system. Hope this helps further explain relays!
