Ok well I am putting a zz4 in a 72 datsun, Demon Carb, ProCharger P-1SC-2, geting a Bwt-5 for a tranny (not built yet so room to work on gearing), Now i need a rearend, Looking for something bullet proof... like a ford 9" well I was thinking Turbo Thunderbird but i was looking at them they have the Quad shock set up and discs, but will it FIT with out cutting the hell out of my fenders.? and still let me run big slicks for the track? Also do i want to stick with the factory (to the rear end) 3.55:1 or do i want to get some liek 4.11's ? or do should i get something like a Lincoln mark Vii Rear..? same rear but if i remember it 2" wider has traction lock and disc breaks, also since i am going to disc (it looks like) whats a good master cylnder to swap to..? (sorry long post)

Ford 9" all the way! They are pretty heavy but with the power you want to put to the ground I would go that route. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

I dont wnat a chevy rear end, I like the versitility of the Ford 9" nice install tho

If your gonna go ford, then get the 8.8 traction lock rear out of a late model cobra (it's got disk's) and have it shortened. It's alot easier to work on the 8.8 since the rear cover comes off with a few bolts.

 

Oh, and it's quite stout too.

I was just showing you how I installed a solid rear end. You can use a 9" if you want.

yea the thunderbird turbos have an 8.8" and its not a soild axle i belive....
