Guest MarkEmark
Hey guys...I'm new here, a 240sx owner, but was directed here from the FreshAlloy message boards... I'm trying to gauge interest and see how many of you out in Z land have the same tastes as me and would consider buying the following wheels... They're made by CCW (Complete Custom Wheel), which is a VERY good and reputable wheel company that makes a lot of racing wheels and extremely nice wheels for high end cars (http://www.ccwheel.com). The wheel is 16" x 8" with a 4.25" backspacing, meaning it has .25" positive offset, which is roughly +6mm offset. I have no idea about the fitment on different Z cars but they were originally made for the Datsun 240z... I'm reasonably sure these would fit in an S14 (240sx) chasis without fender rolling, especially if the tires you choose to mount aren't any wider than a 235 series. Anyway, the wheel is a FORGED, welded 2-piece wheel that was originally intended for the Datsun 240z. They are extremely high quality and nothing like almost all of the wheels on the market today in that they're forged and built custom. They are only available in 4 x 114.3 lug pattern, and they weigh 16 pounds which is very reasonable for a wide 16" rim. The entire wheel is polished to a mirror finish and it has a HUGE lip. Only about 15 sets of these wheels were ever produced, and they haven't been produced since 1997. CCW has 2 of these wheels at their warehouse but that's it, and I talked to a guy named John there and he said that Bogart Racing Wheels (who apparently they're affiliated with) would probably be willing to make 2 more of these wheels so that I could buy a complete set...however, Bogart would be a LOT MORE APT to make these 2 more wheels if they had a few more people who were interested in buying a complete set of the same wheels...it just makes more sense to produce more wheels than to fire up the machines just for 2 wheels and one customer...That means there would need to be people committed to paying quite a bit of money for these clearly top of the line wheels. They'd go for around $900-$1000 a set with no tires, which i think is fairly reasonable considering their rarity, the fact that they're forged, and have a very hard to find offset. Top of the line equipment always costs top dollar. Basically, i'm trying to find out how many if any of you would seriously be in the market for buying such wheels so I can call John and ask him to start having the wheels made/selling them...maybe we could even get them for a discounted rate (a la group buy). Anyway, I'm sure many of you are dying to see what they actually look like Here the beauties are. If that pic doesn't work go here... http://nissaninfiniticlub.net/photopost/uploads/644/ccw31.JPG If seriously interested respond to this thread or email me: ***MODS--THIS IS NOT A COMMERCIAL OR GROUP BUY POST. THERE IS NOT A GROUP BUY FOR THESE WHEELS. I AM JUST TRYING TO SEE IF ANYONE OUT THERE IS INTERESTED IN WHEELS LIKE THIS. I AM NOT INTENDING TO SELL ANY SERVICES **** Marc.Formeister@tufts.edu Thanks

Guest MarkEmark
Mike--i saw all those pictures of your car through the CCW forums--I love your wheels. Thanks for making everyone lust after 17" wheels lol. However not all of us have the power to drive 17" x 10.5" rear wheels. I thought that a lot of Datsun owners would be interested in such wheels because they match the stock size more closely...hell, the wheels on my '95 240sx stock were 15"...Anyway, anyone who's seriously interested, please respond. Guest MarkEmark
Why "haha"? Are you trying to torment me? Ask your friend DavyZ if he'd be willing to sell them to me....seriously...if theyr'e in very good shape I'll give him $1000 for just the rims...and I know that they went for about $850 a set when they were manufactured--DavyZ could make a pretty profit... auxilary
nah, i really did have them Trial run on the rears, wouldn't clear my front calipers without a spacer, and flares required. wrapped in kumho 245/45/16 712s. I believer they were a little more than $850 a set...
Guest MarkEmark
God, those pics make me want those wheels all the more...so beefy! And your Z is soooo clean! 245/45/16's are exactly what I was planning on running they look to be a good match to the width. So you had a set of four of them or two of them or what? Guest MarkEmark
You're damn right I do. Easily the nicest wheels I've ever seen available for my car that fit my strict criteria....I just wish CCW had a complete set left...why would there only be a pair left? why not a full set?? arrr....
