well project 200sx is on a roll.

SR20DET came last week, i got the intercooler piping, FMIC is coming in the mail, so is alot of the fuel parts.

Apex-i multi check came also.

car has already been striped and etc.

the SR20DET is bolted in, and ill be welding up the tranny mount tonight or tomorrow.

the driveshaft got the right yoke put on and a few other parts came in.

i bought some sheet metal and also a sheet metal brake and rivet gun so i can do the door panels, dash and some air ducts for the FMIC and intake.

once it gets running more things will get done to it.

cant wait till my friends and I drift the hell out of this car!

anyways heres some pics..

also what color you think we should paint it?

hey guys..

took some more pics and did a few things with it.

motor fits in fine, its tight on the back side by the firewall.

tranny pretty much is fine where it is, but we might have to cut a peice of the casting off.

heres a pic..

its that little Nub..

heres a close up pic..

so is that ok to pretty much grind off to make it smooth so it will fit flush agaisnt the mount... ------------>

also heres a pic of the driveshaft welded to fit and balanced.

heres a pic or 2 on how close the motor sits next to the firewall

heres what we have to do with the tranny...

anyways i have a question about cutting the front peice of the car off.

this part...

849_p27775.jpg

its really things and flexable. doesnt seem like it does anything but have the hood latch on there, which we arent using.

reason for this is we are doing a V-mount fmic setup and its sorta in the way.

i will be adding a think bar to mount the fmic on (atleast on top) and pretty much build a craddle of some sort to have everything mounted.

so could we cut that off?

i know you can cut it off on a S30 Z..

anyways heres one last pic of the S12

wish us luck!

I would say cut as little as you can off.. IMO that front 'piece' does have some importance to the structure of the car.. to keep the 'rails' and strut towers from moving/flexing. But if you're gona put some bars back in after you fmic and stuf is mounted, it should be fine. I'm just thinking if you're gona drift this thing hard, with all that power, it's gona twist a bit without some suport. Looking good though man!!

I'd wait to cut it off until after you have some other kind of bracing welded in place. It might seem flimsy, but I'd bet it does a lot as far as adding rigidity to the front strut assembly. Project is definitely looking good though, keep posting pics  You should paint it flat black, Mad Max drift car.....

mods will be a custom intake manifold, exhaust manifold, custom exhaust, V mount fmic setup, Apex-i Power FC (maybe), Apex-i multi checker, T3/T4 turbo, bov, 550cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, and alot other things.

will be a stripped out car, and sooner or later a fuel cell in the back, and either a Datsun S30 dash or a sheet metal one.

i just did the tranny mount and im now making some little custom mounts and etc for some parts in the engine bay.

but so far so good, these SR motors are so LIGHT!
