Guest tony78_280z
I recently did alot of electrical work on my Z primarily in the ignitions switch area. Afterwards my blinkers didn't work. I put a test light on the three wires that go to/from the blinker switch. Center is green (I assume is ground) other two are white and some color. None have any juice. So I'm thinking of simply sniping off the one(s) that should be hot and running a hot wire to it. Will this work? Or does it need to go to a relay or something first? Which wire should I hot wire. Yes, I checked all my fuses and fusable links first. Yes my hazard flashers and other lights work properly. I'm afraid I may have snipped a wrong wire or done some kind of damage while doin all this other electrical work. (chev350 carbed into a 280z) Thanks -T
datsunlover
I had the same prob when I ripped out all my FI wiring harnes to switch to SU's in my '75 I thought I pulled one to many wires out or something. All the lights worked, but no signals. Turns out it was the relay that was seized/dead. There are two on the the drivers side dash, under the left side.. above the ECU ..sort of.. (somewhere.. don't know where they are SUPOSED to be bolted, cause mine were just hanging..) If you can find them, turn on the hazards and which ever one clicks, is working. Try swaping that good one to the 'other' conector. It should be close by, and will be the same style conector. That reminds me.. I still havn't replaced the one for the hazards.. (stole it for the signals! )
