JaysZ
just ordered 2 quarts of por15 black, 1 quart marine clean, and 1 quart metal ready. i've got my interior stripped and taking it to my friends body shop to have new floors and rails put in. the question is would i need to topcoat everything, even the stuff on the underbody? how do i go about painting it, do i absolutely need their primer or is regular stuff ok? thanks in advance
john kosmatka
Your gonna wanna get the por-15 tiecoat. Because if you want to paint over the por-15, not gonna happen, so spray the por-15, then when the por-15 is still tacky spray on the tiecoat and after that you can do what ever, undercoat, paint, etc. And just a reminder, DON'T use por-15 on clean metal. It does not bond well and is a pain if you sand through it. Hope that helps, John
Drax240z
It actually bonds quite well to sandblasted metal in my experience. But as John says, clean metal, non-prepped, you don't get very good adhesion. You can't use a classical primer with it either, you need to POR-15 products if you want to prime.
