Guest RED280
I probally should have thought of this a long time ago... But...What legal issues (if any) have you guys in Texas ran into with your Hybrid Z's? I'm in Houston, Harris county and since my Z is a 76 it doesn't have emmisions testing. Have ya'll ever had a problem? Do the inspectors even check? I would hate to finish building this thing and discover it can be legal. I'd be forced to built it into a full on track car...maybe thats not a bad idea... thanks Jp Plank

260ZRED
I used to drive my Z to school with open header at 7:15 am, past all the cops and the morning traffic (no gas..1000-1400rpm, shifting at 2200 max, but ground still shakes..!) and they just had a dumbass look on their faces, but never did anything. $14.00 for your sticker and you're free. just make sure you're horn's working, headlights, taillights, etc. and there won't be a problem. Phantom
A normal inspection station will just give you a safety inspection and pass you on. I made a huge mistake when I first got my LS1 powered Z inspected by going to a shop where the owner had a Stage 3 Z32tt and everyone thought they knew all about Z cars. They insisted that my car was a "remanufactured" car and had to be emissions tested and then, even though it actually passed the test, they failed me because I didn't have catalytic converters. It took me two weeks and finally having a Texas State Inspections Agent for this area call them and tell them to lay off and just give me a regular inspection. Needless to say I've never been back to that shop and my car passed inpsedtion at a regular inspection station last time without even a second glance. Guest RED280
I live on the east side, near I-10 and the beltway. I go up and down 1960 quuite a bit for work. It's great to hear that it's so simple. I was afraid there would be piles of ppwk and a bit hassle at the station. It looks like if I just keep my mouth shut and dont draw attention to myself it will be pretty easy. Sweet!!!
