Cable
I just got back from picking up my Nissan R230 VLSD rear diff from a '90's 300ZXTT (Z32). I had to drive 11 hours (round trip) to go and get it in San Diego today, but $60 in gas is better than trusting UPS with such prized cargo or paying alot more than $60 for shipping. It has 3.69 gears, which is pretty close to the 3.54 gears I have currently in the stock, open, R200. Just gotta source one more pair of inter CV's, order axles, and adapters. Then then comes the fun part of installing it......... Pics:
john kosmatka
Sounds like a good deal. I have a q45 diff waiting to go into mine. Just think I might stick with my open diff for a while. At least untill I can afford the adapters.
Cable
I was going with the Q45 diff since I know where one located. But since the Q45 swap is just as hard as the R230 swap, and I'll be making upward of 500RWHP with the next motor, the R230 wouldn't hurt. john kosmatka
and I'll be making upward of 700HP with the next motor Thats definitely a reason. The q45, if I use it, should be strong enough to handle what ever the l28et will throw at it.
Cable
Tomorrow I am going to talk with someone about doing the R230 swap for me. He can fab the adapters needed in-house. Just gotta order axles from Moser and source one more pair of inter CV's. Hopefully the install price won't kill me. Here's the big reason I need both a R230 and traction aids.
