schwiplarkin
im new to this website and the use of computors and i want to state that i did try to find the answer to my question by using the search but could not find any, any ways, a few months ago i lucked out by finding a 72 240 with the v8 conversion already done at a estate sale ,, the motor was trashed= broken cam, thrown rod, cracked lifter bores, ect.so i built a 350 chevy that runs very strong but when i get on and off the throttle the diff clunks really loud,, i also have a 75 280 turbo conversion that i used a solid mount on but is very loud,, what are my options, thanks alot,,

jt1
Welcome to hybridZ. I wish I could run up on a V8 Z at an estate sale, nice find. This is the Chevy V8 forum, and your question would fit better in the Drivetrain forum, but: The first thing I would check would be the front diff mount, second the mustache bar mounts, third the half shaft ujoints. Do some reading in the drivetrain forum, there is ton ton of good info there. John
HICKL
If those mounts are in tact, your problem is probably internal. There is a roll pin that breaks and allows a larger pin to float back and forth and thus tear up the other gears in the diff. I have went thru 2 with my V8 Z already. I hope it's your rubber mounts.
