Electronic BOV's?

just hearing the name makes really good ides run through my head.

 

without reading i know right off that a very good thing about doing something like that would be keeping the bov shut when cruising with partial vacuum (this would keep from having to do some tricky tuning to keep the car from running lean due to metered air being released.

 

other things would probably be quicker response time. i'll read it now and see if i was close. lol

IIRC many of the current aftermarket BOV's don't have much of an issue with releasing metered air into the engine compartment. There was a post (found in my search) where the HKS SSQV was discussed:

It was mentioned that the design prevented it from venting under partial throttle (vacuum). THAT, however... is the another topic.

 

I think an electronic valve would be a good idea and I wonder why I haven't heard more about it. Seems, to me atleast, to be the logical evolution of the units common today.
