midnightzxt
I've got a 280zx Turbo, with the r200 open differential. By reading the previous threads I've heard much about the problems with some differentials and such. I would like to be more specific: My application would be for greater than 300 hp to the crank, but less than 425. I would like to race auto-x, road race, and drag racing. Which specific brand of LSD would be good for this application? I'm looking for a price range that is good to look for so that I don't get "screwed". I'm also looking to stay cheaper as we all are. Open to ALL suggestions
Drax240z
I'd look at the nismo, powerbrute or 300zx clutch type limited slips for your application and if you want to stay on the cheap end.
midnightzxt
One other Q: on the precision gear site they have specs for example: Part: LOM59-12 Descripstion: R200 W/12MM BOLTS Ratios: ALL Spline:29 What would I need for a 1982 280zx Turbo? I was told there is a difference like the 10mm and the 12mm, plus I believe I have the R200 open.
CruxGNZ
You have the 10mm ring gear bolts. '84 through '89 R200's used a 12mm bolt in the ring gear. Earlier R200's used a 10mm bolt in the ring gear. I would suggest sleeves to make up the difference in ring gear bolt diameter. There is quite a bit of information to be had on this subject. Hit that search button and READ . !M!
