Fuel pump question

Recommended Posts

I've used the search function all morning, and found nothing. So i guess i have to ask. Is there an in tank fuel pump that will feed my carbed 350? I know that GM used in tank pumps on fuel injected engines but I was wondering if they used one on a carbed one. if so, what year will work?

I agree with Tony. Granted I'm running a LS1. But... The stock location works great. To answer your question? Yes! T.B.I G.M. motors used a low pressure, intake pump. I believe around 13 to 15 p.s.i. Now adapting it to a datsun tank would be some work. I really don't see an advantage. Hope this helps!

OK, here's the explanation. I've got a Z31. and the 300ZX had an intank pump. I didn't think that a stock Nissan pump would be able to feed the chevy. A while back when I moved the gas filler to behind the licence plate I plumbed the tank to feed a Holly red Pump from the bottom of the tank. This works alright as far as fuel delivery goes, but I am really uncomfortable with the fitting on the bottom of the tank. Not only does the fitting seem very close to the ground, but there isn't very much room for the ext fuel pump.
