Do these headers work in s30 v8 conversions?

Heya guys, was looking through my new JEGS catalog and saw the following headers and wondered if anyone had tried them out on their SBC V8 conversion yet, they look to provide more clearance than the standarg 'block hugger' headers that people use:

Any opinions on these? It looks as if they would give a little more clearance to the steering shaft, but I am not sure, wouldnt really be able to tell w/out seeing it on an engine in place.

 

sorry if this is re-hashing an old post, I looked through but didnt see any previous mention of these.

I dont know but it sure looks to me like it would be a pain in the @$$ to get plugs in and out. Aside from that, they actually look like they may fit great because they dont seem to stick out fromt he head very far

other than looks and possibly fit, I can't imagine these are any better than a ramshorn style exhaust manifold as far as performance goes.

May actually be worse. With the collector that high it may interfere with the steering shaft. And yes, my word, changing plugs looks imposible! I used Patriot's standard blockhuggers with the LT1 swap and they fit great and nice quality.

I bought some Sandersons that were the exact same thing (from the pic) from zfan (Mike W.) in TX. I think Mike was using them on his 383Z. I bought them because I was planning to flip them upside down and do the turbo thing, but for now I have them stored. Find zfan's email and ask him--then make the decision based on what he says. I think he wanted a more full length header which is why he dumped the Sandersons, not because he trouble changing plugs, but maybe we should ask him?
