JessZ
I live in San Luis Obispo and am financially ready to convert my 240z. I'm leaning towards the Ford swap, but it seems it may not be as cost efficient as the Chevy swap according to what I have seen on this site. Am I right thinking this? What are the advantages of the Ford 302 swap vs Chey 327. I don't want a totally radical engine, just mild cam, intake and nice carb bolted to a five speed. Also, is there anyone who can reliably do the Ford swap? That is I bring you the parts and you do the work. thanks.
y-not
Jess, I am doing the Ford swap. The Ford engine is lighter and can be set back further than the Chev.. The Chev has the distrubitor in the back, the Ford in the front. I guess the Chev swap started the whole thing because the engines are cheap to buy and modify! Guest 77vegasz
If you are not an experienced mechanic, and do not have access to tools to do some fabrication, then do the small block Chevy swap. Buy the JTR manual and kit. It is easy. There is no Ford kit available that I am aware of. y-not
I was able to make a mount that is pretty simple and cheap. Use 69 Mustang motor mounts. If I could, I would post some pictures. Bill
