Guest 4u2nV
Hi gang, i've had my 82 280zxt for over 3 yrs now and i'm mostly convinced that putting the sbc 350 in will be cheaper for me in the long run for the power i want out of it, I just ran into a mechanic i'm building a website for and he has a sbc 350 with 12k miles on it in a blazer, just wondering if $600 is a good price for the complete engine, he said all it needs is a flywheel which is pretty inexpensive but i need to know if this is a good buy, the truck was sitting for 3 months, i went in back of his shop and turned it over and it started right up sounded great with exception to the flywheel clatter what do you guys think? should i go chevy instead of rebuilding my old l28et? thanks in advance. Guest 4u2nV
i believe it's a 91 or maybe earlier, it's the big blazer not the little s10 i think it's a 1500
jbk240z
I would just make sure it is the flywheel before you pay. Be there when it is pulled out. A cracked flywheel will be very obvious. Does the noise quite down when put into gear? If so, it's possible to be the cause. Good luck. Does sound like a good buy if it's complete with accessories. Guest 4u2nV
yeah it's just the flywheel, also i was wondering if the transmission can be used or do i have to get a different one, cause i'm trying to stay away from chopping up the z as much as possible, it's an 82 280zxt 2+2 if that has any bearing. jbk240z
If the blazer is a 4X4 then no go on the trans. A 2wd trans could work altough I believe the tail shaft is longer than a car trans, but I think it's only 3 inches longer. You have a 2+2 model so it should work fine.
