David K
The 79 came in at 2,745 pounds with full stereo system. Everything A/C and Cruise control is removed along with all bumper hardware and replaced with the MSA #2 kit. Im shooting for 2,500 pounds finished. The entire interior is coming out sometime this month and getting sprayed with truck bed liner. Gerry Graham's white 280zx that was featured in Sport Z came in at 2,500 pounds with full stereo system.
HeatRaveR
Where did you weight it at? I've always wanted to weigh my car, but unsure if those truck weigh stations would let me or be accurate for such a relatively small vehicle.
David K
I went to a dump station in Anaheim. Im going to drive to a friends house to get all 4 corners weighed by a machine he brings to the track. I hope to reinforce the numbers i got today, maybe lower them. Then its on to the interior
Guest Aaron
I think most of those machines are only acurate to a few hundred pounds. I do some work for a rock quarry. The state requires them to have thier scales calibrated every couple months. I walked out on the scales right after they were calibrated and it weighed me at almost 500 pounds. I weighed about 180 at the time.
Guest 81na ZX
T-Tops? Obviously I have a vested intrest in the weight of pre-82 ZX's
Guest comeandzpa
2,745 seems high, especially with the A/C, cruise, and OEM bumpers removed. Wasn't the stock weight right around there? 2,750-2,800?
