300ZXTT coil packs on l28et good idea?

You'd save some money for sure if it could be done, but I'm of the opinion you're better off going with an Electromotive unit. The only downside is this will cost you about $600. It is fairly easy to hook up, and I cannot tell you how nice it is behing able to adjust the curve with a few simple dials on the unit. I beleive they have a newer, more adjustable laptop adjustable unit out now too.

i have some single coil-on-plug units from a 2002 ford f150 v8 truck.the power transistors for the coils are in the ecm.do the 300zxt coils have 2 wires going to them or more than 2?the bosch coil-on-plug units have heat sinks on the top and have more than 2 wires going to them.i saw a set of these from a 2004 bmw 330i.i suspect that the bosch units take a low level signal direct from ecm and have a +12v and ground wire too.to use coil-on-plug with ms&s you would have to hook up a ford edis system and fire cylinders in pairs every revolution-1&6 2&5 3&4 .the coils would be connected in parallel.newer cars have cam position sensors becuase the cam turns at 1/2 speed-than you can get a true #1 cylinder position.if you read from the crank #1 could be on either compression or exhaust stroke.some aftermarkit ecm's like a haltech can use both a crank and cam position sensor to fire cop ignition and full sequintial injection.
