Rant: Why list your car FS & then never return calls/emails?

I'm shopping for either a 280, a Conquest, or a Supra to mate up with my surplus LT1/T56. I've noticed in each case people put ads on the Internet and then never bother to return calls or emails  . Case in point:

There is a cherry appearing white 280 in AZ that I've called on 4 times and left voice messages each time. I figured it was sold & then noticed the "seller" had renewed his ad for it. I know some can't make LD calls, so I also left my email address for him, no response this way either. The interesting thing about this "seller" is the phone # goes straight to voicemail during business hours or on the weekend. It comes back to a pool service company when I checked it on Google. Hope he is more responsive w/ pool customers :).

I've recently sold two vehicles on Autotrader & cancelled both ads within a week of each sale. I also answered all emails except for the "...hope it is still in a good condition. Hope you are going to give me a good offer for this car (note- I was selling a van) cos it was needed by my daughter to take to college. Get back to me." type of Nigerian scammers (although I did play with a few of them & gave them the FBI HQ adress for their bogus cashier's checks ;) ).

Ooh! That's a good one! Last week, someone tried scamming me (I'm selling one of my cars) with the ol' "I'll have my 'Financial Institution' send you X amount of money and you refund us the difference"-scam. I played with him, punching holes in his nonsensical story. Do you mind posting/PMing me the FBI address so that I can do the same thing next time this happens? Is it their cyber-crimes division that you had them send it to?

Go to the FBI website and look up your local office.

Where in Florida are you?

I've got a straight 71 240z for sale. I can send pics if you are interested? I'm about 45 mins from the AL/FL state line.

JT

SW FLorida, a long trip from the Pensacola area. I have two Z candidates as of now, 1 in Atlanta & 1 in Central FL. I was looking at the 280 since after reading the JTR book it looked like this would be the best car for the LT1/T56 install.

You can send some pics & I will look them over. My email address is available to club members- click on my user name. I need a car that was a manual tranny & had AC if this makes a difference in your case.

Thanks for the offer.
