mobythevan
My new turbo has a v-band flange on the outlet. Are v-band flanges measured by the outermost diameter of the flange or by the pipe size (like inner diameter of flange). The outer flange measures 3 inches. But the flange I see for sale says the pipe diameter is 3 inches so that wouldn't work. Measuring standards are always confusing.
mobythevan
OK, looks to me like it is still pipe size that matters. So 2.5" v-band flange should fit what I have with outside diameter of about 3". A 3" v-band flange has an outer diameter of about 3 and 5/8 inches. mobythevan
I ordered 2.5" v-band flanges and clamps and they are too big. It seems there are two inside diameters. Apparently the smallest inside diameter is the right one, which I didn't use. So it looks like I need a 2" v-band flange. Try this again. auxilary
that's odd. I ordered a 3" vband clamp from vertexnow on ebay, and the unit I got was a direct fit for a 3" pipe. the t4 turbo exhaust housing I have fits the 3" pipe, and can be welded on, but an outside sleeve is recommended. Actually, the flange fits perfectly over it. 73botiz is welding it for me, so I'll take pics when it's done.
