Guest Navy280Z
Well, two days ago I threw away a MSA catalogue after looking at rebuilt engines. Maybe that was a mistake? Driving down the highway today at a comfortable 70mph, 3000RPM in 4th, things get really really loud really quick, then I hear metal bouncing around everywhere, then parts go spewing out the back of the Z. Many unspeakable words later, I am pulled over and looking inside the car, only to find that I can stick my entire fist through holes on BOTH sides of the bottom of the block (just above the pan). Went back along the road and found one connecting rod, then found another in the pan. All in all, a great day for a blown motor. I've got a friend e-mailing me the pictures later. They're really quite spectacular. If anybody knows a website where I can look at those rebuilt motors again, please let me know. Grant By the way, the exterior and the interior of the 2+2 looks absolutely amazing now...
wheelman
Are you sure you want to buy a rebuilt motor, what about picking one up a at a wrecking yard and doing the rebuild yourself? Might think about taking the opportunity to swap in a V8. As for a website try: http://www.zcarparts.com. This is MSA's website and I know they sell rebuilt motors. Sparks280zt
Well I see your location is Annapolis/Atlanta, which happens to put NC right in the middle, there are several descent Z car mechanics here in NC that can rebuild your motor alot cheaper than a MSA one.
