Guest RyanSugh
I searched on the topic on strut cartridges and found a lot of stuff but it didn't help to much. I already have the gland nut off and the old strut cartridge out. But on the old cartridge there is a peice of extra metal cover that is not on my new tokicio HPs, and i am not sure if i need to remove it and put if on my HPs and if so how i don't see how it comes off. 2126
A photo would be worth a 1000 words! Its a little difficult to understand what you're trying to describe. Are the inserts of the same length?
Here comes trouble
You may have an "extension" on the old strut cartridge that were usually placed on the rear cartridges.... If your new cartridges are short in the tube.... you will need the extension piece.. the cartridges shoud fit tight and solid in the strut tubes when the gland nut is tightened securely in place. Sometimes the shorter 240 Z cartridges were used in the 280 strut tubes to make shorter 240 cartridges fit the longer 280 strut tubes an extension was added
Dan Juday
You don't need it.
Guest RyanSugh
Thanks I see that on the new gland nut there is a washer that kind of acts like a replacement
