AK-Z
Are you talking about the internals or external? The best way I could think of to clean the exterior is to use a pressure steam cleaner, it will clean the crap on the outisde right off. for internals I say drain everything and run new fuilds for i.e. oil, coolent, ect. then running it for an hour. CruxGNZ
Seafoam works verry well! Then start throwin' some Marvel Mystery Oil in there, the stuff works wonders. Just out of curiosity, why would you think that you need to "clean out the engine"? !M!
Eric
just so i know it's clean. it's got about 145k on it and the last owner drove i hard, so it's just a "now i know it's been done" kinda thing.
Guest Z Draci
The seller of my 280ZX gave me a great deal on it because it had a rough/low idle problem. I went home and gave it a Seafoam job. (I should add that it blew out extremely heavy smoke for nearly 3 minutes straight!) Now, it idles fine plus drives much smoother. Who knew it was a $5 fix! The basic ingredients are the same for most decarbonising products. Seafoam is the most straightforward formula IMO. They list everything in their formula so I know exactly what it does.
