My Experiences With Wheel Spacer Shopping......

So I finally decided that it was time to get some ricer wheels for my Z. Also, I had finally convinced my dad to go along with the spacer idea. So I started my shopping. The first person I went to, naturally, was Ross. After receiving his quote, I decided that I might as well shop around for a little bit and try to find a super deal. Turns out that one doesnt really exist.....

I talked to 4 other companies. Only one of them said right of that he would build them, and that was after I emailed him 3 times until he gave me a response. I also had to give him my entire life history so that he would know what I was even talking about. 2 of the other companies I talked to merely said "HUH? I dont know what youre talking about..." or "HUH? NO". The last company I talked to said that they could PROBABLY do it, after I once again gave out my life history, and they quoted me $50 over Ross' price NOT including shipping. So then I thought it over; one guy could get them to me for $15 dollars cheaper, but he was not very reliable for staying in touch, and he didn't truly know what I was trying to accomplish. Or, I could go with Ross who already knew what I wanted and knew all of the measurements of my Z, and just needed a brief list of the specs. of my new wheels. So, I went with Ross, and should have my spacers in about 2 weeks. He was very helpful in explaining what he needed and what I needed to do, and he always responded quickly to my e-mails. If any of you are still considering the spacers idea, don't waste your time and just go straight to Ross. I'll hopefully get some pics online once my rims are on! burnout.gifburnout.gif

Modern-Motor Sports.com web page Comeandzpa's endorsement of Hybrid Z member Ross Corrigan's wheel adapters is appropriate. As each day passes owners of the first generation Z cars are faced with dwindling supplies and resources from fewer and fewer vendors that specialize in our favorite cars.If we do not support our suppliers and fellow members we will one day find nothing out there for aftermarket accessories that will be affordable. We should not neglect members Mike (SCCA) Gibson web pageEric Nyerlin (Sleek Z) web page or Mike Kelley when it comes to ordering parts.

Food for thought. I also went through what you are going through. I got frustrated and mad because of the wheel options available for early Z cars. I was very close to just ordering a set of custom made wheels and have them imported for over $2500. But then I sat back a moment and thought about it, looked at my wallet, tought about it some more, looked at my wallet again...

You get the picture.

Anyways, I ended up buying the adapters from Ross. They are great quality and you can use any style FWD wheels you want. And get this, they fit in the fender wells better than stock wheels. Not to mention Ross is a specialty Z guy (along with other vendors on this site) so he knows Z cars well. He also provides great info. and great customers service.

To sum it up, $200 or so isn't a bad deal for these adapters. And once you're able to bolt up some "ricer" wheels or whatever wheels you want on your Z I think you'll agree.

my $ .02
