Silent
mustang dyno, 152. 12 % correction to a dyno jet 170 on a crappy tune 150 on a dynojet today wtf is goin here!!!!!!! i know my throttle shafts are leaking, but to lose almost 50 hp over the winter has never happened to me. motor has about 6k on it. really don't beat on it. guess my su's are just that screwed up? could the throttle shafts cause this much of a loss? maybe my exhaust is crushed down in the back due to it being 2 inchs off the ground and speed bumps suck any help? wigenOut-S30
Alittle more about your set up would most likely help. Also what was the AF , at?
Guest bastaad525
could just be regular variation from dyno to dyno.... 50 hp difference is not unheard of from one to the next. 25hp difference from one day to the next day on the SAME dyno isn't even uncommon. And yes, leaky throttle shafts can cause all kinds of problems, including loss of power.... that is a MAJOR vacuum leak, one that varies every time you get on the throttle, and cannot effectively be tuned around. briann510
was it the same dyno and operator? same air temperature and humidity? it can make a pretty substantial difference on results just with air temp and operator inputs on the mustang dyno. Silent
setup is simple 3.1 stroker stock n47 head, some goofy cam i have no idea what it is. su's, with sm needles, msa header 2.5 header back exhaust i go from making 192 rwhp to making 150? i have heard of dyno's being off, but got damn. there is a couple of z cars here in town that make the same power, over and over again. a 240 making 230 hp for the past 2 years and a frineds 300zx making 336. i understand about the whole dyno thing. i have worked on a couple of them. naplesZ
Am I the only one that thinks it's funny that a member with the name of silent titles his message 'I'am gonna screem' ? Or was that the whole point of it?

katman
Yeah, 50 hp variation from operator/dyno to operator/dyno or day to day not unusual. They're really pretty worthless. You could see a 10hp variation or bigger in drivetrain losses depending on fluid temps. You could be seeing 30 hp easily in a bad tune. Get it on an engine dyno with the proper instrumentation and be amazed at the power of knowing your A/F ratio. Meanwhile, do a leakdown check just to be sure....
