I was sent here by automotiveforums, I have recently aquired a '73 240z. I was wondering if anyone makes a V8 conversion kit. A complete kit including block and all needed components to put it into a 240z.

Welcome to the board, the first thing you'll hear is use the search function. This site is full of information and just about every question you'll have while doing a V8 conversion has already been answered.

There are a couple options for kits that will mount a Chevy small block engine into a 240. The preferred one here is sold by "Jags That Run" (jagsthatrun.com). They sell a book that describes the process and has engineered drawings so you can make the parts if you don't want to buy them. Get their manual and read it a couple times before starting the project, it'll answer most of your questions and get you started in the right direction. Nobody sells a complete kit including engine and transmission.

The other 2 places that sell conversion parts are:

Motorsport Automotive (zcarparts.com)

John's Cars Inc. (brokenkitty.com)

What do you plan to use the car for? Drags, AutoX, Roadracing, street, all the above.

Have you looked it over real good for rust?

What do you plan to do to the suspension and brakes if anything?

I plan on using the car only in the summer. I do plan on taking to amateur night at the drag strip but nothing serious. I am stripping the car to bare frame and working my way out from there. The interior is going to be as original looking as possible. With hideway motorized screen and stuff like that. As far as the brakes and suspension go I am not sure. Right now I am looking at getting the conversion to disc brakes and switching them all to cross slotted brembos. Other than that I am not sure. I havent started doing anything yet, right now the car doesnt run that is why i am looking at getting a engine incase it is no good.

Thank you for all your help.
