my aubframe connectors and a quick question

Recommended Posts

theres the connector in the dirtyst interiors ever..

14ga 3X1 steel.. its a 48" straight to the frame in the front, Then a 6.5"(ish) angle piece, to a 1"(ish) level piece, welded straight to the subframe

anyway, the driverside floorboard was shot, so I removed it.. I have 16ga sheet to go in its place..

The question is, the passenger side is fine.. one small spot that needs a patch but its all surface rust.. I can put the connector in no problem with the floor in, just a little bit more work..

should I cut the passenger side out to make it both even? or just have bonus 16ga steel??

I would just leave the passanger side. It's going to be hard enough to weld the 16 gauage to the factory sheetmetal.I would put the P.O.R. (Pour Over Rust)on the passanger floor after you fix it.I burned through the floor a few times and my sheet metal had not a spot of rust so it wasnt even thin.
