Guest traub83
In the 1/4mi I know this is a huge lil pet peve of most same as me but darnit I must ask. My motor I finished building with my blower was dynoed the otherday at the crank and it was pumping out 588hp at 6200 RPM and had 599lbs torque at 4000, now this is at the crank not the wheels, I am putting this in a 1978 280z with a 700r4 tranny and a nice built 200 rear end with 3.58 gears im wanting to say.. anyways full interrior with a 4 point cage, with street slicks for traction and coil over suspension setup. just currious do you guys think 11's are in my future if im a good driver or possibly some quicker times... So im not asking what I would run but mainly if im going to hit or kill my goal of 11's with this car in the 1/4mi!!! id love to see 10's lol!! 80LS1T
11's should be a cake walk....most likely mid to high 10's though. Guy
Scottie-GNZ
I agree. 10.80s @ 130+. Are you planning on running a lockup converter? Might want to give it some thought or give your gearing/tire diameter some serious thought. Unlocked with a 26" tire puts you on the rev limiter in 3rd and you want to avoid o.d. Taller tire, taller final drive or lock the converter.
Guest traub83
thankx guys looks as tho ive pretty much met my goals huh!! uhh I am going with a lockup converter, im setting my rev limiter to 6500rpm my cam builds to 6300 and i have 1.6 ratio rockers on it so i bet it will last till 6500, i honestly donno what size tires I will be truely running and frankly im not sure how big i can fit under there also.. i know i can do 15x10's cause i have the widebody kit on it with 3" flares and the previous owner had 16x11's which rubbed a lil so if i go to 10" wide i should be good to go with some drag radials however height i honestly dont know cause with the coilovers it should give me room to play with it for the strip maybe be able to fit some 28" tires under there which would be super sweet!!!! ohh my rear end its the r200 and has a locker in it from grr qual something lol cant think off the top of my head again but they said it will hold to whatever i can throw at it, but i dont think they knew i was going to put a blown v8 in it also lol... ohh well they warranty'd it sayin whatever i can throw at her. lol!! Guest traub83
thanks bro, does anyone know the stock weight of the 280z's?
Guest bastaad525
stock weight is around 2800lbs, however I've seen guys with hybrid 280z's on here claim anywhere from high 2500's to low 2900's.
