Guest Battle Pope
1: My '76 has an '82 ZX engine, which means it has the ZX distributor. I'm almost done with the install on my carbs. All I need is a PCV line and to wire the distributor. Can anyone tell me which wire from the dizzy is which polarity to the coil? That's my biggest problem. 2: Is it necessary to have the coolant temp sensor wired in to make the car run and drive? I wouldn't think so because the carbs are controlling the fuel and air source? My apologies for the noobish questions, and thanks to anyone who can help.
fastzcars
doesn't the 82zx engine have fuel injection? As a matter of fact the 76 does too. What carbs are you using?
Guest Battle Pope
I got a pair of DGVs, the cannon manifold adapters and 260z runners with linkage for 300 bucks, with the carbs professionally rebuilt. The FI didn't work and the wiring looks like a victim in a slasher film, so I took the easy way. I found a pic elsewhere online delineating the polarities on the "black box" and coil, so I'm left with the water temp sensor question.
