1. its a weld-in mount to the frame rails

2. you have to mount the motor in with the cradle in place and see where the engine is going to sit and tach weld the mount in place, then pull the motor out and finish welding.

3. you use the 240z rubber mount insulators to mount to the sr20 brackets.

Too Bad No Makes Polyurethane Mounts For The 240z....

 

The Craftsmanship On My Cradle And Weld Work On My Install Is Top Notch, I Think Alex Of Vildini Is Very Good At What He Does And It Wouldn't Be Good To Bash Him With Out At Least Contacting Him Before Hand.... I'm Sure All Your Reserves/issue Could Have Been Resolved With One Phone Call Or Email.

I Was Just Saying That If This Was The Only Contact You Made You Should Have Taken Another Route. I Didn't Know You Were Already Talking To Him Because I'm Not Psychic And It Was Never Specifically Stated. I'm Sorry If I Came Off As A ***, It Was Not Intended That Way... I Just Come From A Community Where Everyone Finds A Need/reason To Bash Good Companies And Ruin Their Reputation And I Don't Want To See That Happen. You Know First Hand We Here Try Hard To Help You With Everything You Need And I'm Sure Alex As A Manufacturer Of Products Will Too, Its Just That The Original Post Was Coming Off As A Rant/bash, But I Now Understand It Wasn't Anything More Than Frustration/confusion.

 

I'm Sorry For The Slight Lack Of Communication But I'm Sure Like All Of Us He Is Busy With Life. Hell Have You Tried Emailing Ross C. Of Modern Motorsports And Or Msa, Both Are Very Busy And You Wait A Few Days To Get Any Responses If Ever.

thanks for the quick reply.

so how does the tranny mount need to be modified? do you guys sell modified mounts? (for a ka24 tranny)

 

the reason i ask is because i could get a ka24 for free but i want to be sure that i could pull this off before i get a motor. so any info would help me out.

 

is there anyone on this site that has put a k-motor in their 240? i would like to see.

from what i know, there is no one on hybridz who has yet put a ka24 into a z, the tranny mount needs to be modified depending on how far back you mount the motor, once you have the motor you will be able to tell what you need to do to make the tranny mount work

OK, im begining to see the whole picture now.

 

i was planning on dropping it in NA just to make sure i get it wired up right and running. then i have a td04 from an STI which im gonna put on it. people have been telling me that the stock internals are actually pretty tough on the k. guess im gonna be the one to find out.

well ka was one of the routes i wanted to take. and yes ka and sr share the same mounts. even the tranny member can be alternated. i used to own a 240sx. nothing had to be modified in the mounting spots at all. so if you have a tranny mount for an sr into a Z i dont see why it shouldnt work with your set up. but then i could be wrong. if you decide to do it post up some pics. or maybe ill beat you to it =)
