fuel pump ????

Alright everybody. 76 280z with the 82zxt swap sortof running. I know everything started out fine since i drove the donor car. Now in the 76, it runs so rich it floods itself out. I kept thinking i checked everything until i noticed something.

I have the stock(76) fuel pump running off of 12 switched power, not through the relay and therefore not the pump modulator which is connected to the computer. I'm planning to hook everything up according to the diagram but do you think this could be my problem?

Could the eccs think the fuel pump isn't running, therefore run the engine way to rich or in limp mode? What does everyone think?

Thanks as usual,

Brian

Does the car even have limp mode. It is just a guess. But wouldn't the fuel regulator keep the pressure the same? I'd say get a guage in there and check to make sure the pressure is what it should be. It is most likely not the pump though IMO. But i am always wrong.
