HarrisonTX
If the title was confusing, sorry. I am loving the t-56, i mean theres no reason not to get one, aside from the crazy prices. So, i have a spare super t-10 laying around, that i think i may use to get the car running, i would be able to drive it alot faster, because it would cut down alot on the initial cost of the swap. So, my question is mainly about t-56's If i buy a 10.5inch aluminum flywheel, and a clutch kit for my 4speed, and over time buy a t56, and a wier bellhousing, will all the parts from the 4speed work on the 6speed? are the splines the same? I know i would have to pay to get the driveshaft cut again, and maybe a differnt corssmember setup. Aside from that, i wanna see what other parts i would need aside from the t56, and a wier bellhousing and misc pieces that come in the wier kit. Thanks guys
RedZ85
I dont know exactly what you have, but i did exactly what you want to do. I have a T56 to a 69 Chevy 355. When i purchased all my flywheel and clutch stuff, i was told from Bob Wier that his bellhousing kit was designed to work with stock muncie stuff, being that his kit is designed to go from old engone to new tranny. If you get aftermarket parts (or use the original stuff) you shouldnt have any problems as long as they are muncie spec.
deMideon
The only difference I would think of might be the speedo. Isn't the T-10 mechanical? The T-56 is electric.
HarrisonTX
Yea, your right, about that... And the driveshaft would have to be shortend Now that im thinkin about it tho, i may just use a t5, till i blow it up, then send it to g-force, and have them make it bullet proof. yeah, 6th gear is nice, but it would cost 100 extra pounds, and about $600 more than the t5, then another $600 more for the bellhousing. I can live with just a 5speed, and that will work with my autometers anyways... Thanks for the help tho
savageskaterkid
didn't G-force go out of buisness or sumthing of the sort not too long ago?
