Guest bastaad525
Hey guys... first post over here on these boards. Okay, here's one of those questions that seems hard to get a good answer for. Hoping for just a ball park figure if I can get it! Okay, I put an mildly built up L28 into a '72 240. This motor had been dyno'd in the ZX it was originally in, at 146hp/161ftlbs of torque at the wheels. Not sure what I'm getting now that I've swapped to SU carbs though, but lets just say about the same figures. I'm running a 3.90 rear end and high pressure six puck clutch with 14lb flywheel, on street tires. Any idea at all what this kind of setup would run at the track? I'm guesstimating around mid/high 14's. What do you guys think?

Jeff
Mid to high 14's should be right on. Check out ZGad's daily driver's specs at Datsun Times
Guest Fast Frog
Check out www.clanlittle.com Someone posted this on our website 2 yrs ago. This guy is a specialist with taking the 240Z and dropping 280Z and ZX components into it. With certain upgrades he's getting into the high 13s approaching 100mph! That's pushing turbo/V8 territory!! Guest Fast Frog
HMmmm I think that website no longer exists. Give me your street address and I'll mail you a copy of what I down loaded 2 yrs ago. Rick
Guest bastaad525
I checked out that link Jeff... his setup is near identical to mine. I think I can top his 14.8 ... I'm running 2 1/2" exhaust as compared to his 2 1/4 (which may not be a good thing??), a 3.9 rear end compared to his 3.7, and I'm also running a six puck high pressure clutch setup with a 14lb flyweel. So... assuming I'm correct that these differences are improvements, I should be able to pull off closer to a 14.5. And that knowledge makes me a happy camper I think not bad at all for an N/A L6 in a car that I haven't really dumped a relative ton of cash into.
