Guest tha-Zic Posted December 30, 2005 Share Posted December 30, 2005 WTF, after hotrodding my Z at with over 250,000+ on the motor it went south on me. the motor has not blown but values, rings, radiator, are bad, so wanting to do an motor swap. the body and interior is in excellent shape. with 5 speed. i am going to keep it simple and just put another vg30 motor back in it. does any one know of an place to get an vg30 motor with low mile and runs, in North Caroilna let me know Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The current engine in my 84 has 265K miles and runs like a champ. It put about 400hp to the wheels, gets 30mpg highway and I beat the piss out of it daily. You can get used VG30's out of many Nissan vehicles (and the mercury villager), but you may need to swap things like the intake, dipstick, oil pickup and pan. There is a man in Clinton NC, about 15 miles east of Fayetville who has 80 z31s and is selling his entire collection. He bought them wrecked or needed some mechanical work and fixed them up with is father for resale. Since his father has passed he is selling them all, but you can only buy an entire car. I personally know a guy who bought two running turbo cars off this guy for $800. There is another Z junkyard in rutherfordton and he always has alot of parts, PM me if intrested.
