spdsk8r
This weekend I drove my son's car to him. He is in the Marines, now stationed at Camp Lajuene, North Carolina. That's over 1000 miles from us in Michigan. His car is a '90 Mustang Notchback. Bright Red with a Saleen wing, 17" Cobra rims. Everything is modified on this car. I'm not sure what is done to the engine, but it was checked on the dyno at 422hp. It has very stiff suspension, also. Not the ideal car for a cross country trip.I was nice and drove very conservatively, except for the one time leaving a toll booth on I-77 in West Verginia. Just as I was leaving the booth, in the lane next to me a Mercedes 500SL came blasting out of the booth. So I jumped on it. I went blasting past the 500SL like it was sitting still. Watching in my left side mirror as the 500SL got smaller I noticed the driver, a rather distinguished looking 60 something, had a ear to ear grin on his face. I ran to about 75 or 80 and backed off it. As the 500SL blasted past me the driver, still sporting the big grin, gave me the thumbs up That one small moment made the whole trip bearable. Seeing my son was the best part of the weekend, though. 16 hour drive down there, saw my son for 24 hours, and a 16 hour drive back. At least the drive back was easier on the seatend, in my wife's 95 Cutlass Convertable.
CruxGNZ
Cool story! Around here, you would get a finger instead of a grin. Everyone thinks they are better than the next just because they have money. The way they think is that "money buys happiness", but every time I ask them for some money, they won't give me any . I just want to be happy . !M!
