Guest ExpertHandler Posted March 22, 2006 Share Posted March 22, 2006 I have a 71 240z with a stock motor for all that I know Has header and exhaust bah and has a electric piston driven fuel pump "loud as hell" so anoying anyways I just got a fuel pressure regulator to keep it from blasting my carbs to hell with gas where is the best place to mount the pressure regulator and around what psi should i be running ?? 2126 Posted March 22, 2006 Share Posted March 22, 2006 IIRC, the recommended fuel pressure for the SUs is 4 to 4.5 psi. With new needles and seats in the carbs you can get away with a bit more. Pyro Posted March 22, 2006 Share Posted March 22, 2006 Mount the regulator on the cool side of the engine compartment (passenger side). A good place would be on the firewall between the battery and the hood release so the fuel line will not be heated up by the hot air from the radiator. 4 psi is right for SU's. Get a Mallory comp70 if you want a quiet pump. I bet you have a Holley pump (loud as hell). No need for the mechanical pump. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
