4everDATSUN
i am buying the billet z31 axle adapters from MM. im noticing that the z31 axles are different lengths. are the different lengths nessicary? i ordered both axles and one was completely wrong (it was the longer of the 2) what im getting at, is it possible to use 2 of the shorter axles? j260z
here is a link to the install of the z31 shafts http://www.magshooterz.com/z31_cv_conversion.htm the shafts are of different lengths because the differential is offset to the drivers side therefore the shorter shaft goes on the drivers side and the longer on the passenger side. you could try putting two of the shorter shafts in but you may get tired of the passenger side shaft popping out of the differential whenever the suspension is used. 4everDATSUN
i cant find a passenger side axle. apparently they are on factory back order. i live in CT. r they available out on the west coast. id rather have a quality rebuilt axle, not a junkyard one. fastzcars
They MAY physically work, but if you look at the pictures on this website you can see that the stub portion of the cv's that gets inserted into the diff are of different lengths. You may run into problems with the end seals leaking or the stubs not inserting fully into the spider gear assembly. I would just bite the bullet and get the right part co you know for sure you won't run into problems. http://www.magshooterz.com/z31_cv_conversion.htm.
