1 fast z
Does anyone know the rate of the TOKICO red springs that come in the kit they sell. I want to get a baseline for what they are so I know how much they differ from like a 250 IN/LB coil over spring as far as stiffness. fastzcars
http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=94933&highlight=tokico+spring+rates. Damn I'm too nice. I just typed in "tokico spring rates" in the search and I got it.
Dat260
I use this formula to calculate any coil springs. Spring Rate= G x d to the 4th power / 8 x N x D to the 3rd power G = torsional modules for steel d= wire diameter in inches N= active number of coils D=coil diameter in inches 8= consant for all springs So, if you take a spring with 10 coils you get, 11.250.000 x .62 x .62 x .62 x .62 = 1.662.337 8 x 10 x 5.0 x 5.0 x 5.0 =10.000 1.662.337 / 10.000 = 166lbs-in Take the same formula and remove one coil and you get 11.250.000 x .62 x .62 x .62 x.62=1.662.337 8 x 9 x 5.0 .5.0 x 5.0 =9000 1.662.337 / 9000 = 187 lbs-in Cheers, Ari
