Silent
don't freak out, the scratch marks are just removed carbon build up. it's my fingernail what the hell are these things anyways?!?!?! ka24 pistons? some wierd creation??
AK-Z
use a can of WD-40, spray a lot on there, let it soke. then go at it with a toothbrush. Might be able to find some markings.
Guest norm[T12SDSUD]
I found some STOCK L28 NISSAN pistons that had a 7.9cc dish in them out of a junkyard 2.8L motor once. No one ever figured out how they got in the motor since all were supposed to be 10.9 cc pistons but they had identical markings to my other stock Nissan pistons. Hard to tell from the photograph but those pistons look like the dish is around 3 cc's or less. It's possible that someone shaved them down to fit in a LD28 crank. I know I shaved mine way down like that for my 11.6:1 CR motor that lasted all of 1 month before grenading itself. Anyway let us know what you find out. Later,Norm
Lurch2461
KA24 pistons have a dish of only 2.80cc, but when I was looking at building a 2949cc motor, the piston of choice was the KA24, but with the lip machined off to create a flat top piston. Cheers, Dennis
Silent
whats getting me is the reverse dish. as in a very small dome. dunno, i'll get some cleaner or something on them this friday when i go back over there to do some more tinkering. i don't think a pic of the bottom of the piston would do any good either
hoov100
get some gasket cleaner, then soak the tops of the pistons in it for about a minute, then scrub them like hell for a few minutes, works wonders.
Guest norm[T12SDSUD]
Good grief the photos made them look as if they were dished 3 cc's. You probably have motorsport pistons that have a slight dome to increase compression.

Silent
the bige bore kit aka 3.1 doesn't use the offset pistons from msa. they have a piston that looks like mine. which now i have to figure out what cc the damn thing is. the bore should 89.0 mm
Silent
it seems to be shaved msa big bore pistons. around 40cc's from the deck height. give or take a few. the pics of the pistons are taken at tdc. dunno.
