T56 Question.....

Mike kZ what kind of power are you putting down with that engine? Ours is putting down around 425-445. Do use yours for mostly drag?

 

The engine was dynoed at 435 at the crank. Mostly street, a little drag

I'm running the T56 with the Gen III LS1. The shifter comes out about 1/2" forward of the original point but still inside the original hole. I have a 280Z, however so things are a little different.

I assume you're going to be using the later model T56 that is used with the LS motors rather than the earlier, weaker, unit used with the Gen II LT motors?

I am getting a new unit from tremec. Since I have a old style block it is actully cheaper than buying a GM model and buying the adaptors. The unit from tremec bolts to the old style housing and use chevy factory clutchs parts, nothing special needed. Plus the new unit it rated at 450 pds of torque.
