JaysZ
i'm in the process of rebuilding my F54 block. i've been told i should replace the bearings. however, there seems to be several types. crank and rod. do i need to order both? what size? there are standard and there are overbore sizes. if i am doing a simple stock rebuild, would i order the standard? how about piston rings? autozone carries these products, would you recommend i go with them, or someone else? thanks in advance! z-ya
You need to check gthe condition of your crank journals before you can determine what bearings you need. If you take it appart, and the journals look OK, then replace them with the same size that was in there. They will be stamped "std" if they are standard size. You can read all about this kind of stuff in any of the L6 rebuild books out there. I suggest you get one, and read it thoughly before starting your project.
