280ZX Caliper conversion - Brake hoses?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone point me to a vendor for braided stainless hoses? I emailed Russell 2 weeks ago - no response. Earl's is English - don't feel like waiting (or paying) for transatlantic shipment.

Summit and Jegs don't list any Nissan.

Do I really have to go to MSA?

Try www.jegs.com a cursory look showed a few Earl pieces in they're catalog, they can probably get what you need.

So far only 2 vendors have responded. One said 6 weeks and $150! The other was 2 weeks and $130. This is for the complete car, which leaves me with extra hoses (I'm keeping the stock drums in the rear, at least for the forseeable future).

So, I'm just ordering them from MSA...

Pardon me for a rather silly response, but what ever happened to the $70 braided brake lines from the popular Z aftermarket suppliers. These are the ones I used (made for the OEM front calipers, but work on the ZX stuff (or am I stuck in a time warp?)

Well, I haven't got them in hand, so I shouldn't jinks myself, but my fears of MSA may have been unfounded. They're gonna sell me a set of front braided hoses for $40+shipping.

I have no idea who makes them, so I hope

- They don't suck

- They show up in a reasonable timeframe

- They end up being the right part.

We'll see....

Wel, crap. The MSA guy was supposed to call me back with info on the front hoses. He didn't, I called today and they now say that they are out of stock on the front hose.

So I'm back to being SOL.

I think tomorrow I'll make an attempt at the local Hydraulic Hose company. Have no idea if they do braided lines. I do know that they're one of those wierd companies that freaks out at the possibility of dealing with a non-commercial entity. I'll have to make up some bullshit about being a shop of some kind.

Arrgh.
