linluv84 Posted June 11, 2006 Share Posted June 11, 2006 I was given a 5-pin HEI with wiring and I am thinking that I may be able to use the HEI to fire the coil. mobythevan Posted June 12, 2006 Share Posted June 12, 2006 I don't see why that wouldn't work, I guess if I was worried about hurting the crane unit, I would make a quick test setup using 12 volts and a toggle switch to fire an HEI module and make sure it works at least manually, one spark at a time, use a current limiting resistor for the test setup (like the schematic in the install guide shows for megasquirt triggering the HEI module). Also, the HEI module rpm limit is higher on a 6 cylinder than 8 cylinder, see my reply over on zcar.com Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
