Guest dr|ft
Hello all! been reading Hybrid Z forums for years now.. never registered. Then finally had my swap done on my car. However, as the title states i do have problems w/ the drive shaft hitting the rear sway bar. Happens on downshifts and quick shifts. That is the worst combo right?!? no downshifting!! no launching!! Main question is i guess if im the only one. I guess i would have to get the drive shaft re done... or is there any other alternative? Im so close on just taking that swaybar off!!!! Let me know if other people have had that problem and what you all did to fix it. Thanks all.
Lewis Maudlin
I didn't have a problem. My driveshaft does not hit my swaybar. My SR20DET is mounted as far back as possible. Maybe Alex at Vildini knows more. I used his mounts and with those mounts, I didn't have a problem.

Not a cross member either. **newb aler** how would i be able to post pics of how the mounts look and how the motor sits? And yes.. i do own a 2+2... never thought about that... do you have an answer for me ON3GO!! Well i hope someone does. SR240Z
make sure your differential mount isnt broken so that the diff isnt flopping up and down against the sway bar.
Guest dr|ft
Now that... is an idea. Ill have to check that out. Thanks
Shift
Yeah sounds like the diff is loose somehow. think about it, when launching, the diff case is more likely to move up in the front. down shifting has the opposite effect. Quick shifts, theres a moment that the diff is decelerating (pressing the clutch), which would also make the diff go down. Not trying to be a know-it-all, just bored and have nothing better to do. Most likely someone else is going to come along and prove me wrong anyways:mrgreen: .
