It has the function and the neutral safety switch as well. What I don't like is having to squeeze a lever before shifting from second to third' date=' then if something jars you like a hard shift, you can then bump it into neutral. Reverse is locked out well.

It's a great powerglide shifter though. I get them for about 80 to 120 bucks complete, one was NIB for 90 bucks.[/quote']

I've been searching for shifters for the last few minutes. Please correct me if I've misunderstood my findings... the safety terminology I'm looking for is "reverse lockout/lock-out". A "full ratchet/ratcheting" shifter additionally prevents accidental shift into neutral or premature upshifts. I guess I want a full ratchet shifter, but I don't want one that's clumsy.

Actually, the old factory shifter in my 1970-72 Firebirds were fine, but they didn't have protection against premature/double upshifting.

In the extremely custom car world' date=' these sorts of people are an unfortunate side effect. These folks do not have morals, they're just trying to find a way to unload their problems on someone else. The good news is that you can spread the word about these cheats and stop them from whacking other people in the future.

Good luck, I hope you get everything going well in the VERY near future.[/quote']

I hope I can either shame this guy into working with me or make him nervous enough via legal actions and/or embarrassment to do so. The "stoopid" thing is, If I publish this guys' real name such as on this forum... the bum could take legal action against me. It's sort of like a burglar entering your home and tripping over your shoes... if he gets hurt, you're screwed.

So this guy owns a business in LOS ALAMOS NEW MEXICO, correct? Is it a used car lot? What street is it on? Whats his first name?

He owns a small restaurant. If he had a used car lot, I'd just sue the guy and win. His first name is Mike.

There's an oil leak at the rear seal that seams to be worsening... maybe... again, I've only had this car a few days so I don't yet know it well. I hope it's not the crank.

a reverse lockout is pretty much standard on all aftermarket shifters as it is a requirement of NHRA and IHRA and I'm sure some road sactioning bodies.

The oil leak is probably not the crank, if it's a sbc, they are notorious for that, but it can be made not to leak.

The rear seal will be replaced when I swap out the TH350 for the 700R4. Any advice on tweaks or brand of seal?
