iroc-z rims on a sbc v8z?????

Recommended Posts

hey guys, this might be a dumb question

but have any of you guys done a five lug to chevy sizes and tried to stick the iroc two stripers on them, personally i think that would look really cool and give some homeage

to the sbc without really saying it outright.

they are like 16x7 or so and i know a lot of you guys are familiar with them. does anyone

have them rockin right now or have a chevy lug conversion info so that i can see if it

is cost effective and work without flaring the car.... smile.gif

That would look nice; especially the Iroc rims that were color matched to the paint of the cars.....Hmmm(?).

Anyone know the answer to that question...what is the lug spacing on the mid 80's to early 90's Iroc's.

What does the 5-lug spacing measure that everyone here is converting to?

Kevin,

yep.......... GM's 5 on 5" pattern. the issue isnt the fronts... its the rears our stub axles dont have enough meat on them to redrill out to a pattern bigger than 4.5" .

that means using adapter/conversion spacers

look at it the other way.. with rx7, nsx, toyota supra, nissan, mustang all being 5 on 4.5 thats a big difference than the little you get with the 4 lug systems.......

man thats a bummer, but thanx though, dangit some vette rallies or irocs would just be fantastic. scca, does the five lug conversion kit youre talking about make it so that you

can mustang rims (cobra rs????) or even

the later nissan rims, i seen a couple z's with the 90-96 tt rims and i thought it looked pretty nice.........

GM is 5 0n 4.75 pattern. I'm running this on my 240Z. Since my rear end is a shortened 12 bolt Chevy, the rear isn't a problem. For the front I used a Chevy drum hub (which uses the same bearings as a Datsun). I then had my friend make a thin spacer between the hub and Datsun rotor, then bolted it on the hub like a stock Datsun. I'm now using Weld Rodlites wheels with a Chevy bolt pattern.

i would love to run a solid axle, but it isnt in the budget right now, but dang does that sound mean or what. cmon now, there must be a way to mount those great iroc z's on there

vette rallies, new school ss maro and vette rims....dangit dangit...my buddy with the ss

Heh, those wheels and tires will cost big bux. Brakes all the way around if you don't go for the super duper would be like $800 up front and a yet to be determined amount in back. Not cheap but it will stop like an anchor has been thrown out and take advantage of whatever tire you throw on it....

As for the OEM looking wheels - check around. Like Mikelly found out - some companies make look alikes in various patterns. The Cobra R never came out in 4lug - until the aftermarket did it smile.gif
