Guest viiper
OK, I need some help identifying a clutch slave cylinder - please! After lots of Googling, I cannot seem to find anything anywhere to identify my current slave cylinder. I'm sure someone here will know what it is right away so I can order a new one (mine leaks). Here is what I know about that area of the car: Muncie M22 Lakewood Safety Bellhousing Pre-72 355 SBC Here is what I am trying to identify: Clutch Slave Bracket (looks home grown) Unknown Aluminum Anodized Threaded Slave Cylinder Unknown Clutch Master Cylinder Pics to help:
2126
I believe the master cylinder is an AFCO unit. Look at the pic! Visit their website or give them a call. Good folks at AFCO! Tom
Guest viiper
Thanks! So that answers 1/2 of the question - the master is an AFCO. Calling around, it does not seem the aluminum slave is AFCO... any ideas? If I cannot determine slave origin soon, I am considering this Novak kit: http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_hcr3.htm Would it work for a 240Z SBC, Lakewood, M22 combo? I like the idea of having the slave accessible from the engine bay - not having to crawl under for setting up any bleeding. Thanks, Joshua
Trevor
The proportions and mounting of the slave cylinder reminds me of a BMW 2002. But the red annodizing says "aftermarket" and "racing part".
Mike kZ
Try taking the slave appart, may be it has common internals you can buy at Pep Boys. Never seen one of those.
Guest viiper
Thanks guys, I guess I will take it apart. I thought it was an interesting design - mounting the body that is also threaded and therefore adjustable.
