Hey guys, I am new to this site. I accidentally stumbled across it lookin for information on the LQ4 motor. I am a member at Z28.com. Eventually I want to swap in a new motor into my '89 RS. Right now it has the very weak 305 TBI backed by the WC T5 tranny. LS1 would always be a great upgrade, but no feasible for me I think. LT1 is also in the back of my head, and more feasible for me. However, I was wondering if anyone knows if the T56 will bolt up to the LQ4 motor? I am looking at LQ4 because I figure it would be a little cheaper then the LS1 since the LS1 is such a desired motor. Thanks for any and all help!

Yes it can be done. And should be pretty straight forward. You'd just need everything for the manual tranmission from the t56 (bellhousing, flywheel, etc.). The LQ4 motor is a good choice surprisingly good torque and an even powerband. I'd recommend you start doing some searching on www.ls1tech.com more so than z28.com Good luck,
