Really, need Help! Front suspension

Hey guy's

 

I need some help in getting my front suspension right. So far the car has Motorsport springs and Tokiko struts and shocks. Poly bushings on the stock sway bars and the T/C rods. Last time I went to buy tires and get an alignment the guy told me that he could not get the front end right (National Tire & Battery) not enough adjustment. The tech said the car would pull to the right. And would wear the left front tire first. After this was first done it was substantually better than before so I really didn't worry about it. Now the time has come to get new tires and I want to get the front end right. My main complaint is that there is excessive shimmy (proubly balance and worn out) and it pulls hard to the right. What to I need to do it get it right(stop shaking and go straightdown the road)? The car has 154000 on it and is my daily driver. I'm getting real tired of fighting the car to go straight.

 

I'm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area do you have any one or place that you would recommend. I would take the car to Robert Clary but, I know he'll say to raise the car back up. He hates none stock cars. I like the springs but, need the car to be right.

Hey Corey (fellow Texanite!)

 

Have you tried calling either Bankston Nissan or Courtesy Nissan's parts Dept & ask if they knew of a specialty shop that was familiar w/alignment for altered Z's.

 

Remember-these two dealers were the two Factory Sponsored Nissan dealers for selling Nissan's restored 240's. Surely if anyone has an idea they would.

 

There's a few guys at the Courtesy Nissan's parts counter that are Z officianodo's-they should be able to point you in the right direction.

 

Remember-Bankston is in Irving Tx while Courtesy is in Plano Tx: no ph#'s sorry/just call info or look in your yellow pages.

your pull is from mismatched caster or camber angles.has your car been in a wreck?nissan built car to reset toe in only-caster & camber were built non adjustable.you are going to have to fabricate or use some aftermarkit parts to align it.zx arent popular cars for racing so there isnt as much suspension goodies for them.

do you know what particular item was wrong?

if he said the tire would wear on the inside i ASSUME it has too much camber.

2 choices.

well 3 actually.

1) camber plates

2)heim lower a-arms.

3) shorter the one a-arm cut and weld to the proper position it needs to be to correct it for that one ride height.

 

BTW. camber plates are common for ZX.
