waynekarnes
friend over at classic has friend in sacto looking for decent fair priced shop to restore body on 240z. says most shops want to hammer. bondo and paint. most shops don't like working on older cars. anyone know of a good body paint shop in sacto. woman's husband died. she wants to finish the car. doesn't want someone that says will weld and then uses bondo. wants to pass on to children. any body ??? thanks ! LineC
There is really no way around bondo if your splicing in quarter panels or removing rust where you have to weld in patches. $60,000 dollar show cars have body in them honestly. But to answer your ? I live in VA and have no idea were the good body shops are. I did work in a GM body shop for awhile and to be honest probaly your best bet is to go to an individual.... most places don't want to do jobs like that if they have insurance work coming in and also you would end up with a dozen different people working on the car if it gets sent to a shop. COZY Z COLE
If I understand your post right she is your friend's friend? Have her join ZONC, the Z car club, and have her get in touch with the SAC area co-ordinator and I'm sure he can help her or point her in the right direction. Z-Noob
I have a couple of places it all depends on how much she wants to spend, and what needs to be done. Give me a $$ ball park and Ill give you a place...I could list a couple places but I dont want her to go down there just to be shocked at the price and more bummed out...Im in elk gorve which is pretty much South Sacramento... COZY Z COLE
Let me say this.... I saw that post on classiczcar's site also but it was the person's first post and that's why I didn't respond. You never know about post's like that and that's why I questioned if the friend actually knew that poster. LARRY
