    That is some insane fab skils for sure. Its gonna be a pain in the rear to find glass, headlights and taillights though. They dont look like they are the same dimension as the real ones. Even if they were how much does a mircialago sp? headlight/taillight cost...5k-10k?

    Soda is about the worst media you could use on undercoating. I would use a very fine coal slag (black beauty). It will cut through the undercoating very fast and leave a nice profile for another undercoating to be applied. Also with the soda you will have to neutralize it prior to coating. Start at about 60psi and approx 16 inches away. Don't leave the nozzle over any one place to long. Remove in layers need be. Its not hard. Btw I have a 8k soda blasting machine...lol

    Your in CA? Why would you even consider a car in that condition when there are alot of Z's in great condition for sale? I got my Rust free Z for $800...

    The only standard that has a year is the Bumper standard which is 1973. Anything after 73 has to have approved bumpers. The other DOT requirements are 25 years from the first year produced. Meaning a car that is made in 89' would have to meet 1989 DOT standards for 25 years. After 25 years an exemption is made. The 89 skyline does not meet 1989 US DOT standards therefore people are waiting until 2014 when they become 25 y/o and able to be imported with the exemption.

    I coulda swore, that the DOT said that vehicles made before 1975 where the only ones exempt from DOT standards?

    With the extensiveness of builds growing and growing, the use of media blasters seems to be expanding as well. I chose to use a media blaster to give my project a great starting point as well. I went with Precision Stripping & Coating 921 E Vine St, #921, Lodi, CA 95240 (209) 333-1212 and they did a great job. Pictures can be seen in my build thread here: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=157707 I paid $600 for the blasting and $500 for the bake on primer. (Your price may vary!!) I dont have ANY connection to the business I just wanted to share my experience with a business.
